2003 $2 Atlanta Star F00011111*

2003 $2 Atlanta Star F00011111*

Price: $895

As most of us are aware, each 2003 $2 Star note was limited to a print run of approximately 14,000 Single Notes for each of the 12 individual Federal Reserve Districts.

However, experience has shown that the actual number of notes released was considerably less than the theoretical maximum of 168,000 (12 Districts X 14,000).

With some of the Districts, the higher serial numbers have to our knowledge simply never been released.

Reason we raise this issue is that assuming the release to be more accurately in the 150,000 range, with only twelve 5-digit solid star notes possible (with 00011111* being the only combination, since 00022222* notes or higher examples were not printed) each of these notes is a 1 in 12,500 occurrence.

Compare that to the average 4-digit solid (i.e.,0000xxxx), which is a 1 in 1,563 occurrence or 8 times more common.

With the 4-digit solids (i.e.,H00006666*) generally selling in the $350-$600 range, with one recently selling on eBay for over $800, this F00011111* represents a rare opportunity and a compelling value.

If you are looking to acquire the rarest of the 2003 $2 Single Stars, this note warrants your serious consideration.
