An extremely sharp example of a serial number that is very rarely seen these days. Like most of these fancy high-numbered notes, try finding another one and … well, you know the story.
Born from a pack and not from a sheet, it is highly unusual for such a beautiful specimen to have survived in such outstanding condition. Both the edges and corners are sharp, the front-to-back registration is impressive, and the borders frame the note in exceptional fashion.
The light green tint of the serial numbers harkens back to simpler (and cheaper) days. Looking back to 1963, gas averaged 30 cents a gallon and a first class stamp cost 5 cents. And for those music fans out there, Sugar Shack was #1 on the Billboard Top 10.
All together now, “ There’s this cute little note, just awatin’ for me…”
