Price: $275

A pivotal year in U.S. history, in 1787 the U.S. Constitution was adopted and sent to the states for ratification.

Thomas Jefferson was the ambassador to France at the time and headquartered in Paris, but even at a distance his correspondence had a significant impact on the language and principles that were incorporated into the Constitution.

The repeater serial number featured here is a beautiful and rare tribute to the Founding Fathers and to the year that proved so pivotal in our nation’s history.

As you have probably noticed, Red Seal repeaters on $2s are very scarce. As it is, only 3,200,00 non-star notes were printed for all of the $2 1963A Series and according to Schwartz and Lindquist the serial numbers ranged from A15,360,001A to A18,560,000A. With this small population and somewhat odd serial number range, we are fortunate that any repeaters from this Series even exist.

Within the collecting community Legal Tender repeaters and radars are considered somewhere between a hundred and a thousand times rarer than comparable Federal Reserve Notes.

A rare and striking note at a very reasonable price, ....what a country we live in (and what a great time to be collecting currency).
